Introduction to Air Filter Adhesives

Filter adhesives are composed of epoxy resin and a curing agent, often with the addition of toughening agents, diluents, and other auxiliary materials to improve performance. Due to their high bonding strength and versatility, these adhesives are known as "all-purpose glue" or "super glue." Since their emergence in 1950, with breakthroughs in adhesive theory and the development of epoxy resin systems, they have been widely used in the automotive, machinery, aerospace, and construction industries.

Types include ZS-JDB room-temperature curing structural adhesive and ZS-RSB single-component heat-curing filter element adhesive, specifically designed for bonding the paper core to the metal end cap of internal combustion engine filters. The widespread adoption of paper filter elements in the 1970s drove industry demand, requiring technical specifications that included temperature and pressure resistance, non-toxicity, environmental friendliness, and ease of processing. Applications encompass room-temperature curing polyurethane adhesives, heat-curing polyvinyl chloride adhesives, and foamed polyurethane end cap adhesives.
