Carton Sealing Hot Melt Granule

Our Carton Sealing Hot Melt Granule is a pale-yellow, EVA-based adhesive engineered specifically for flight-bar and random-size automatic carton sealers. The granules are die-cut to 4–6 mm and dust-free, so they feed smoothly from bulk melter to gear pump without bridging or clogging, even at 200cas/min throughput. A precisely balanced combination of metallocene-catalyzed ethylene copolymers and micro-crystalline wax gives the adhesive an exceptionally low melt viscosity of 750-1200 mPa·s at 170 °C. This low viscosity translates into outstanding fluidity and substrate wetting: the glue ribbon flows instantly into micro-crevices of kraft, recycled or clay-coated board, creating a continuous, void-free film that seals through 3-ply to 7-ply corrugated. Despite the aggressive wetting, the formulation offers a practical open time of 3–6 s-long enough for minor flap adjustment on random case packers, yet short enough to keep overall machine speed above 120 cartons/min. Rapid crystallization then locks the bond; compression can be released after only 2–3 s, allowing the case to proceed directly to weight compression belts or palletizing robots without pop-opens. The softening point of 105–115 °C (Ring & Ball) ensures cartons remain securely closed during summer truck transport (up to 70 °C ambient) while still permitting re-pulping at standard mill temperatures, supporting 100 % recyclable packaging claims. Thermal stability is rated for 72 h at 180 °C with ≤ 5 % viscosity drift and minimal char, so melter clean-outs drop from weekly to monthly. The pale-yellow color keeps glue lines visually discreet on natural or white board, and the low odor, REACH-compliant is safe for indirect food contact, making the same granule suitable for confectionery, beverage, e-commerce and pharmaceutical case packing.
