Types of hot melt adhesives

Hot melt adhesive for fabrics

Primarily used in the production of garments, shoes, and hats. Garments using this adhesive not only have a crisp, full appearance but also remain naturally smooth after washing, allowing for wear without ironing. Shoes and hats using this adhesive are lightweight, breathable, and retain their shape well. Especially in the footwear industry, they offer advantages such as comfortable wear and reduced shoe odor.

Hot melt adhesive for bookbinding

Hot melt adhesive is widely used in the sealing of packaging for food, beverages, instant noodles, cigarettes, beer, and pharmaceuticals using carton sealing machines. The bookbinding industry has abandoned traditional thread-stitching and replaced it with hot melt adhesive bonding, which not only improves binding quality but, more importantly, significantly speeds up the binding process.

Multi-purpose Solvent-based Hot Melt Adhesives

Hot melt adhesives are used in the production of many products, such as hot melt transfer printing, liquid crystal material sealing, wallpaper anti-counterfeiting, calligraphy and painting mounting, computer printing, food production date printing, and wire and cable coding. However, existing granular or powdered formulations cannot be used; the adhesive must be liquidized in the presence of a suitable solvent and applied to a substrate to obtain a thin, uniform film before subsequent production processes.

Hot Melt Adhesive Films

Hot melt adhesive films are mainly divided into two categories: thermoplastic and thermosetting. They are primarily used for bonding electronic product nameplates, plastics, hardware, mobile phone window frames, and front covers; good results can be achieved even on uneven surfaces.
