The Development Trend of Hot Melt Adhesive for Bookbinding
Leave a message
In the coming years, global demand for hot melt adhesives will grow faster than production capacity, driving up the operating rate of hot melt adhesive plants. It is projected that the global operating rate will reach approximately 90% in 2010-2011. At the recent European Hot Melt Adhesive Conference in Barcelona, it was noted that the global operating rate has decreased from over 90% in 2004 to the current level of 87%-88%.
The market is expected to improve further, with demand growing at an average annual rate of 2.8% over the next five years, while supply will only grow at 1.9% annually. Current global hot melt adhesive production capacity has increased from 4 million tons per year in 2005 to 25.3 million tons per year, primarily concentrated in China, where it is estimated to have reached 750,000 tons per year.
Hot melt adhesive production has begun to shift to China. The production capacity of bookbinding, which utilizes advanced processes, will see significant growth. This will lead to a substantial improvement in the quality of hot melt adhesive products produced in China.
The global demand for hot melt adhesives has been increasing. With the development of the construction and coatings markets, demand is growing rapidly, with a growth rate higher than the global average, remaining in double digits, and an expected growth rate of 10% to 15%.
