Product characteristics of polyamide hot melt adhesive

Polyamide hot melt adhesive, also known as dimer acid polyamide hot melt adhesive, is produced by the high-temperature condensation reaction of dimer acid and polyamine. It possesses excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, electrical properties, oil resistance, chemical resistance, and media resistance; it is odorless and colorless; it cures quickly; it can bond various metals and non-metals; and it has good compatibility with other resins.

The product can be used for bonding fabrics, leather, wood, plastics, metals, ceramics, and other materials, as well as for bonding and protecting electronic components, bookbinding, low-pressure injection molding processes, and tape production.

High molecular weight polyamide hot melt adhesive: good flowability, high bonding strength, and resistance to dry cleaning and washing; Low molecular weight polyamide hot melt adhesive: good strength and toughness, with most properties superior to EVA hot melt adhesive.

Generally, the softening point of polyamide hot melt adhesive ranges from around 100°C to above 200°C, it can withstand low temperatures down to -40°C, and high temperatures up to 200°C. At room temperature, its specific gravity is typically 0.97.

The basic color of polyamide hot melt adhesive is amber (yellow), but it can usually be made black by adding carbon black, white by adding titanium dioxide, and in some less common cases, other pigments can be added to transform it into other colors. Color-changing polyamide hot melt adhesives are often used in special applications such as low-pressure injection molding.
