Introduction to hot melt glue sticks
Leave a message
Hot melt adhesive sticks are solid adhesives made primarily of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) with added tackifiers. They are non-toxic and environmentally friendly industrial consumables, widely used in handicrafts, industrial production, and everyday life. They are typically white and opaque (strong type) or yellow and transparent, commonly in rod or granular form with a diameter of 7/11.2 mm and a length of 200-300 mm. They feature good thermal stability, fast curing (8-15 seconds), and strong adhesive film toughness.
After being melted at 160-180℃, the adhesive is applied using a hot melt glue gun or lighter. It can bond over 15 types of materials, including wood, plastics, metals, ceramics, and fabrics, and is suitable for bonding and sealing in packaging boxes, furniture, electronic components, toys, and other fields. Its physical and chemical properties include a softening point of 65-135℃, a shear strength of 3-8 MPa, and a melt viscosity of 5300 cps. The manufacturing process includes raw material melting and mixing, extrusion molding, and segmented cooling and shaping. When purchasing, pay attention to the uniformity of color and the content of impurities. Yellow glue sticks are recommended for better adhesion.
