How To Use Polyamide Adhesives

The melting temperatures of polyamide hot melt adhesives are, in descending order: 140–160℃, (165±5)℃, and (200±5)℃. In shoemaking, these three hot melt adhesives, with softening points decreasing from highest to lowest, are used for molding and pressing leather shoes after lasting, cold-pressing leather shoes after lasting, and leather edging.

Since polyamide hot melt adhesives can be used at temperatures up to 200℃, 1% of 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidine or 1-phenoxy-3-pyrazolidine should generally be added to the formulation to prevent aging. After adding pyrazol to the adhesive solution, even under accelerated aging at 260℃ for 6 hours, it retains its original properties.
